Collaborative Family Law and Divorce
Just as the typical American family has changed in the last two decades, so has the area of family law. Every day at Kilcommons Shanahan, we bring a breadth of knowledge, experience and sensitivity to our clients and to every case.
Collaborative Family Law
As a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Collaborative Family Law is an answer to address and ease the pain of divorce for all parties, and most importantly, the children. Based upon professional and personal experiences, we believe Collaborative Law is a viable ADR method and will prove to be a better foundation for raising children, post divorce.
The goal of the collaborative attorney is to assist the client in arriving at a fair and equitable settlement while maintaining civility. Both ex-spouses retain enough mutual respect and trust to enable them to converse after the divorce, which is so critical when there are children to rear and child rearing issues to resolve for perhaps years to come.
